Wednesday Afternoon Book Study
“WABS Book Study Group will meet at a different (not the usual) day for the months of April and May.
In April we will meet on the last Wednesday, the 29th of April, still at 10 a.m., in the Church Library. For April we will read News of the World, by Paulette Jiles. An aging Civil War veteran, who reads news to paying audiences, agrees to transport a young girl, Johanna, to her relatives in San Antonio.
They must make the dangerous 400-mile journey to get Johanna, who was rescued from the Kiowa tribe, to their destination. We will choose the May book at this meeting.
In May we will meet on the last Wednesday, the 27th of May, still at 10 a.m. in the Church Library. We will choose the May book at our April meeting. At our May meeting we will choose books to read over the months of June, July and August, as we don’t meet in the summer months, but resume our meetings in September.
All are welcome to join us at these last two meetings, as we critique, ponder and glean meaning from our books, and suggest more inspiring reads for the summer.

Bells
The La Verne Church of the Brethren the Bells gather regularly to rehearse and share the joy of music in worship. Bell practice is a time of learning, listening, and community, and all who are interested are welcome to explore this meaningful ministry. All are welcome to join.

Choir!
Choir practice at La Verne Church of the Brethren is a time to gather, sing, and grow together in faith. Through rehearsal and fellowship, the choir prepares music that enriches worship and deepens our sense of community- all are welcome to join.

Friday Night Women’s Basketball
Our Friday night basketball group is rolling right into April, and we’d love for you to join us. Whether you’ve played for years or have never picked up a ball, you’re welcome here. We’ll warm up together to get everyone loose, then jump into some friendly half‑court games.
Women of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to come. No running required, a brisk walk works perfectly. Enjoy some movement, laughter, and the chance to connect with new friends.
