As a member of the Church of the Brethren, he believed strongly in the Brethren teachings against war and the bearing of arms, and registered as a Conscientious Objector with the Medford Draft Board. With a small, mighty crew we provide three full meals a month to 150 participants. I’m truly overwhelmed with this congregation’s commitment to serve our neighbors in need. Thank you!   We work at creating a home cooked meal and often serve a simple casserole or baked pasta dish, a green salad, fruit and cornbread or garlic bread. It was originally designed to help feed needy neighbors by individuals growing a little bit more than what they needed and donating the extra to a community effort. - [Statement on Anti-Asian Hate](https://lavernecob.org/uncategorized/statement-on-anti-asian-hate/): We, the La Verne Church of the Brethren, called to continue the work of Jesus, condemn all violence, verbal or physical, against the Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander community.   More than 3,800 hate crimes towards AAPI individuals have been documented in the past year.  This violence towards our AAPI siblings, who are made in the image of God, is embedded in our nation’s history.  We lament this bigotry and call ourselves to continue the work of dismantling all forms of racism.

Master Chorale: Singing in Sacred Spaces Over 400 attendees piled into our pews on March 21st to hear the critically acclaimed Los Angeles Master Chorale. The ensemble included our own Niké St. Clair and Shawn Kirchner and was led by Artistic Director, Grant Gershon. Despite the warm afternoon, the audience delighted in hearing an eighty-minute concert including many outstanding works by LAMC writers in residence over the past years.
